How to use templates in Rasayel
Quick templates feature
Once you register your WhatsApp number with Rasayel, we add several templates to your account. They are part of the Quick templates feature. This feature allows you to reengage with customers more easily. Once the 24-hour service window expires, quick templates will appear in the composer. You can choose between several languages and several quick templates in the top right corner.
If you need to access other templates, just click on Browse Templates in the bottom left corner.
You can disable this feature from Settings > General** > Use Quick Templates**
You can reply to customers with free-form messages only after they reply to your template. If you want to message them before they reply, you can only send another template.
Start a conversation for the first time
If you want to send a message to a customer who has never messaged you, follow these steps:
- Click the pencil icon at the bottom of the conversation list.
- Start typing the customer’s name or phone number. If the contact already exists in your workspace, you can choose them from the list, if it is not yet added, we will create a new contact.
- Select a channel you would like to message them from.
- Select a message template from the list.
- Fill in the variables if needed.
- Click Send message.
While you can start a conversation with a customer for the first time, you must already have their consent (opt-in) stating they would like to receive messages from your business over WhatsApp.
User opt-in and consent
WhatsApp message templates can be sent proactively. This means you can send them to contacts who have never sent you a WhatsApp message in the past.
However, you must obtain and keep a record of your user’s consent before sending them a WhatsApp message for the first time.
Even if you received consent, spamming customers with templates is highly discouraged as it could reduce your quality rating and messaging limits. In extreme cases, it could have your WhatsApp account suspended.
For more information on this, here’s Facebook’s official guide on how to obtain opt-in.
Please note the following paragraph from the official guide:
People can share feedback with WhatsApp or choose to stop receiving offers and announcements messages on WhatsApp from a particular business. People can also block or report a business. Our systems will rate limit businesses if the business’s quality is low for a sustained period of time. We may also reactively evaluate user feedback to flag policy violations and develop additional types of enforcement over time.
