Businesses can now access Cloud API directly from Meta without 3rd party providers and setup fees. If you want to manage your WhatsApp API account directly with Meta this solution is for you.

In this guide we will show you how to register a WhatsApp Cloud API number and connect it to Rasayel.

Only one phone number is allowed per FB Developer App. To add and connect more phone numbers, create another app by repeating Step 1 in this guide.

Step 1: Set up Your Facebook Developer Account

1.1. Sign up or log in to the Facebook for Developers account → My Apps → Create App.

1.2. Select Business as your app type and press Next.

1.3. Enter basic information about your business:

• App name
• Contact email
• Business Manager account (optional),

Click Create app. 

1.4. On your Meta dashboard scroll down to WhatsApp → Click Set up.

1.5. Select your Meta Business Account or leave it unselected (Facebook will automatically create a new account) and click Continue.

1.6. Press Start using the API

1.7. [Optional] Send a free message with the provided test phone number to your personal WhatsApp number to test the integration.

Step 2: Connect Your Phone Number

2.1. Scroll down and click on Add phone number

2.2. Fill in your business information and press Next.

2.3. Fill in your WhatsApp Business profile information and press Next.

2.4. Add a phone number for your WhatsApp Cloud API. Please make sure this number in not registered with another WhatsApp account (or WhatsApp app on your phone).

2.5. Verify your phone number by entering a 6-digit code that you receive on this number.

That’s it, your phone number is connected to your WhatsApp Cloud API account.

Step 3: Connect your WhatsApp Cloud API number to Rasayel

3.1. In your Rasayel dashboard, Select Channels.

3.2. Click on WhatsApp.

3.3. On the next page, click Connect to WhatsApp.

3.4. You’ll get redirected to Facebook

3.5. Choose WhatsApp Business accounts that you want to connect to Rasayel

3.6. Choose your Business accounts

3.7. Keep all the default permissions and press Done

3.8 You’ll get directed back to Rasayel. To activate your number, press Connect button next to your number.

3.9. Once connected, you need to copy Callback URL and Verify Token from Rasayel to your  Facebook for Developers account settings.

Copy Callback URL → Log in to your Facebook for Developers account → Go to WhatsApp Configuration → Press Edit

You’ll see a pop up screen, where you need to enter the Callback URL you just copied from Rasayel

Go back to Rasayel and Copy Verify Token

Then enter it to the second field and press Verify and save button

3.10. Press Manage as shown below

Find “messages” as well as “flows” webhook fields and press Subscribe on each field.

That's it!

Your WhatsApp Cloud API account is now connected to Rasayel.
