# Overview

### What are push notifications?

Push notifications are a mechanism that allows you to get notified on your device when important events occur while you are away.

### Supported notification types

Here's a brief explanation of each notification type, organized into three categories: **Assigned to Me**, **Collaboration**, and **Other's Conversations**.

### Assigned to me

Notifications in this category alert you about conversations that are assigned to you.

* **A conversation is assigned to me** - You get notified when a new conversation is assigned to you.
* **A conversation assigned to me gets a new message** - You get notified about a new message in a conversation assigned to you.
* **A conversation assigned to me is closed** - You get notified when a conversation assigned to you is closed.

### Collaboration

This category keeps you informed about interactions with your team.

* **I’m mentioned** - You're notified when a teammate mentions you in an internal note.

### Other's conversations

These notifications keep you updated on conversations not directly assigned to you.

* **A new conversation starts** - You get notified when a brand new conversation begins.
* **An abandoned conversation gets a new message** - You get notified when an unassigned conversation receives a new message from a customer after three hours without a response from your team.
* **An unassigned conversation gets a new message** - You get notified when a conversation that is not assigned to anyone on your team receives a new message.
